Autumn is my favourite time of year, when the forest becomes a blaze of colour and the forest floor a treasure trove of texture. I have recently been gathering, observing and making the fruits of the season.
Do acorns make a welcome change from conkers?
Autumn is an inspirational time for all creative artists. Keats' well known poem 'To Autumn' was inspired by a walk through woodland paths in Winchester.
"...To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more..." Keats, 1819
